1) Discuss different leaders in my life (parents, teachers, community figures, etc) and how they played a leadership role and influenced my decisions.
2) View Leadership PBL iMovie. Provides an introduction to the module.
3) Leaders in the Movies: Watch these clips of inspirational and effective leaders. What character or speech was most inspiring or moving for you? Why? Does it make you think of anyone who may have inspired you?

Task #1: Tweet your definition using #leadership
Group work (We Do):
Characteristics of Effective Leaders
1) Students share stories of different leaders who had an impact on their lives. What made them such great leaders?
Start a Word Wall of leadership characteristics.
2) Get into a group of 3-4 students and brainstorm characteristics of an effective leader. Add to the Word Wall.
Compare your Word Wall list with the one we created in previous classes, found here.
Task #2: Select several (8-10) leadership qualities you see in yourself and create your Leadership Profile using Wordle or a visual poster. Email to me [email protected]
Task #3: Tweet a short blurb about your leadership style(s) using #leadership and # one or two of your leadership traits.
Class share (We Share): Students will work on Part A as a class first. Once finished, they can proceed to parts B and C.
Task #4: Students will review all #leadership tweets and create a frequency tally chart by characteristics. What are the most and least popular traits?
Task #5: All student Wordles and posters will be combined in a Power Point and viewed as a class presentation. Individual students will also voice over their slide to provide details to their profile.
Task #6: Select 3-4 qualities you see in yourself and choose one quality you wish to improve upon. Elaborate on these qualities and how you would like to use them to your advantage or improve upon them during this Leadership PBL. Describe how they are your strengths and areas you wish to improve upon. Write a 5-8 sentence blog on Google Blog (tgaudetngrhs.blogspot.com).
Lesson Wrap Up:
Present the variety of leadership qualities that exist in our class based on the class tally chart.
View the Wordle Power Point of individual leadership profiles and celebrate the diverse skills sets in the class.

CRITERIA: Tweet contains age and topic appropriate language used in class to describe personal characteristics.
3 POINTS
1) Language is in-depth, high quality and thoughtful in nature.
2) Tweet is written properly (hashtags)
3) Tweet is free of any spelling or grammar errors.

Tweet includes any 2 of the previous criteria.
